Summary/Bio
Thomas has studied piano for over 15 years with Darlene Ziegler and has studied at the Curtis Institute and the Tanglewood Institute. He and has performed across Pennsylvania as a soloist, collaborative pianist, and chamber musician, and his playing has earned top honors from the Pennsylvania Music Teachers Association and the National Federation of Music Clubs, among others. He is a recipient of the prestigious Paderewski Medal and the Aikens-Cadman Award.
Thomas is also an accomplished composer, having studied composition for five years with Dr. Larry Lipkis at Moravian University. His works have been commissioned for multiple exhibitions and theater performances, including The Secret at Touchstone Theatre's Festival Unbound and the Bach Chaconne Project through the Bach Choir of Bethlehem. As resident composer with NeuroSalon, a neuroscience outreach initiative, Thomas composed original works for immersive science-art installations that reached thousands of patrons.
Thomas studied cello with Audrey Simons at Moravian University for 15 years. A collaborator, Thomas has performed with the Moravian University Baroque Ensemble, the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, and the Bach Choir of Bethlehem's Zimmermann's Coffeehouse series. He has served as a professional accompanist and chamber musician.
